5. Norman Foster
Born in 1935 in Stockport, Manchester, England, Sir Norman Foster is an internationally acclaimed British designer and architect whose firm, Forster + Partners, is famous for their high-tech architecture. Forster designed a number of Britain’s important landmarks like Gherkin skyscraper and Wembley Stadium in London and Willis Building in Ipswich and is known as one of the Britain’s most prolific and influential modern architects. He holds Masters Degrees from Yale University of Architecture and Manchester University School of Architecture. He won the 1999 Pritzker Architecture Prize, and his company has received nearly 500 awards as well as citations for excellence in the 45 years that they have been in business.
