15. The Moore House
A surefire way of identifying a haunted house is looking at its history, and the Moore House is a classic example. The small, quiet town of Villisca, located in Des Moine was rocked to its core when the gruesome Villisca Axe Murders came out. Local authorities have discovered that an axe was used to massacre the six Moore family members and two guests who were staying at the time. The vengeful souls of the children have taken to roaming the grounds at night, crying and lamenting. Moreover, there were sightings of a man carrying an axe walking about.
